Dino Case
It took me a while to decide on a case for my new lappy and after seeing sooo many beautiful cases that ended up being way out of my price range (hello, I just spent a BUTT LOAD on a lappy, I can't afford to spend the same amount on a case too) I picked this one. I bought it from Lollington on etsy. I think he's pretty cute.

Early Spring and Summer Wardrobe
I have gotten the jump on my spring and summer wardrobe early. Really early, in fact, I have basically no budget left to buy clothes. Except for pants. I am hoping to lose some weight so I can fit into some cute colorful pants. Probably from Gap or H&M (cause the colored denim at the crew is over $100!! Ridiculous).
Anyway, here are the pieces I've picked up
Anyway, here are the pieces I've picked up
Rugby Stripe Dress, J.Crew
Jardin Skirt, J.Crew
No.2 Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Cotton, J.Crew
No.2 Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Cotton, J.Crew
Leopard Tank, J.Crew
Tova Sandals, J.Crew
Yeah, yeah, I know, everything is from J.Crew but I really can't help it when I work there and get a discount. Plus, you have to buy this stuff when it first comes out or else it goes on the "exclusion" list (like the sandals no doubt will) which means that I can't get them at a discount price. So the sandals will probably sit in the closet for a while, but that's okay it gives me something to look forward to wearing. I love J.Crew but lately I've been wishing there was a Madewell closer (J.Crew's sister company). Too bad they aren't coming to City Creek, oh well, maybe in a few years?

New Sneaks!
These are my newest sneakers and boy I was LONG overdue for a new pair. I wish I had taken pictures of my recently retired lace up vans. They were pretty much disintegrating from the inside out. Every time I would put them on, after a few minutes of walking rubber flakes would come off and feel like little rocks in my shoes.
Anyway, I was torn between these and cream colored converse but then these went on sale at Madewell and I got them for 25 Dollar!!!! (They still have a few left in the sale section if you want. Plus, they have high top and elastic banded bensimons if you fancy those)
I have to say that I feel pretty cool when I wear them. I feel like a cool city girl walking around in them and wonder about the cool french girls in Paris wearing them. I'm not even sure if they are popular in France like Madewell tells me they are but I'd like to think so.
Really, I want those converse too because in my heart I am a shoe whore, I just can't afford to buy all the shoes yet (and yes, I mean all the shoes. Well, almost all the shoes).

Living the Frugal Life
I've been doing my best to not buy clothes recently. For my standards I've been doing pretty well I think. However, I can not get over the MacAlister Wedge Boots from the crew. I want them so badly. And yes, I could get them for half off, but that's still $100! Definitely too much to justify. Seriously though, I need to start wearing cuter shoes, and ones that I can actually walk around in, and I think these wedges would be perfect. Now they just need to go on sale.
p.s. One day I'll own all the clothes that I post and then I can take cute pictures of myself wearing them instead of a picture of them.

Sad, Sad Day
My Dear Friends,
I am in a bit of a bind, and I have a feeling many of you have been there before. My favorite shoes of the season have gone on sale. The shoes that I once told myself if they went on sale nothing would stop me from buying them. But, now they are on sale and I can't afford them. I just can't. I will have $5 left in my account if I buy them. And they aren't even expensive. I'm so sad, I feel like crying. I hate being poor. I even have a discount on them, half off, and I still can't afford them. Here is a picture of them, just so you can see how cute they are.
They are, of course from J.Crew. Feel sorry for me, friends.
And yes, I AM ridiculous.

Pendleton Messenger Bag
I would enjoy either of these bags immensely (the middle one is my fav, obvi)
All three are from Pendleton and I can only imagine the possibilities associated with these bags. I feel like with one of these bags my personality would totally transform, and I'd be cool. At least, I'd feel cool. I can honestly say that I've never wanted a messenger bag so badly in my life.
While thinking about myself owning one of these bags I can also see myself carrying it around whilst wearing a chunky scarf, maybe some boots sipping a soy chai and thinking that I can't wait to get to school (which is something I never think).
During that contemplation I realize my reasoning for owning this bag. I'd be excited to go to school and use it. Any bag that makes you want to go to school (wearing a chunky scarf and sipping a soy chai of course) is worth purchasing, don't you think? My future, graduated self will thank me.

The Land of Nod
The Land of Nod
The Land of Nod is CB2's Children's line. CB2 is a pretty cool furniture and home decor company and I wish we had a store here in SL. I can't really afford any of their furniture right now, but I know that in my future home I will most likely have one of their sofas at the very least.
Anyhow, The Land of Nod is adorable. It's Pottery Barn Kids times 1,000! I'm one of those people that finds extreme joy in children's things such as stuffed animals, kids furniture, play rooms and toys. After checking out the website I put myself on the catalog mailing list and boy and I glad and mad at myself for doing that. I LOVE everything in the catalog but I WANT to BUY everything in the catalog. Never have I wanted a lunch box more in my life than after flipping through the pages, nor a rocking chair. Here are all the things I really want right now (I didn't post any of the wall art because then this post would be a mile long).
As soon as I saw the rug (especially when they have it displayed in a room in the catalog) I immediately wanted to buy it. Too bad it's, like, $200. Unfortunately the rug will have to wait. And so will the armchair rocker, but the lunchbox and stegosaurus pillow may be mine in the coming future.
Seriously though, I am considering the rocker as one of my major purchases in the coming years. Who needs a baby to have a rocker? Not me. But for the record, when I do have a baby, this is where all of my things will come from. Let's hope and pray that I'm rich enough to afford all this by then, either that, or I'll be adopting a baby when I'm 70 and have saved up for a room from here.

Did You Know?
Did you know that H&M has a much better website? I remember the first time I discovered H&M (a few years ago) and then desperately tried to shop their website with NO LUCK. It was the worst clothing website I had ever come across. But, apparently (and I don't know when, since I didn't want to disappoint myself with looking at it again) they have updated it since and it's now great.
Check it out here
Also, if you didn't already know, SLC will be getting an H&M. I don't know when, but sometime before I'm 80 I hope.

New Followings
Lately (and I mostly blame pinterest) I've been finding more and more style blogs that I can't get enough of. It first started with Kendi's Everyday and then through her I found Keiko Lynn and just today I found What Would a Nerd Wear AND Get Dressed. If that wasn't overkill, there was another that I had linked but I decided to take it off. This will be the second time that I've had it linked and then removed it. The Chloe Conspiracy is adorable, but in the end, just not my cup o' tea (which is odd because she wears tons of j.crew). I think the reason I didn't end up liking hers was the layout, it just didn't speak to me.
I love these blogs, these women have amazing style and poise. I love that they site their clothes so that I can copy them (if I ever become rich enough to start buying clothes again). Looking at their sites is much better, for me, than looking right at a clothing website. When I'm at the website I either spend or start feeling really antsy, like I should be spending, and then I quickly plummet into a depressive state because I can't buy anything. Plus, these women are real people, they exist! They are not models (although some of them definitely should be) and they re-wear their clothes and most of them have admitted to not showering every day which makes me then feel even better about myself. Yay for not showering and being greasy.
Mostly I just wanted to let you all know how my list of "friendly sites" had gotten so long.

Guys: What NOT to wear
Hopefully you can see the guy with the UBER long shirt on in the background.
As he walked past me many thoughts ran through my mind some of them being: why on EARTH would you think this is okay to wear out? or ever? Could you possibly be borrowing your girlfriends pajama shirt? (where can I get a pajama shirt like that?) Oh, wait, if you wear that in public you probably don't have a girlfriend, unless she looks and dresses exactly like you, poor girl. My next thought was, where did you get a shirt that size? It's weird because (if you can't tell) it's just long, and yes it is a bit long in the sleeve area but it's mostly just a long shirt. Does he shop at a specific store for men that are, like, 8 feet tall? My last thought as he was almost too far away to take the picture, was that I should take the picture!
I can't think of any men that I know who dress like this, but the real lesson here is to wear clothes that fit you appropriately. I can't tell you how much I dislike pants and shorts, especially, that are too big on a guy. Why is it okay for them to dress so sloppily and then hold women up to a standard to look nice? Seriously though, I really do HATE too long shorts on guys. The appropriate length is just above the knee, unless you have amazing quads, then I will allow you to wear hot pants.
